Select newly sodded struggling areas being 1/4" tined and fertilized to encourage rooting |
COURSE PLAYABILITY
Greens - We started to mow the greens this morning but had to stop once downpour began at 7am. Some greens have standing water so we plan to go out later if conditions permit. Some of the newly sodded areas are struggling with the heat with the lack of rooting this spring with the poor growing conditions. This morning before the rain, we 1/4" tine aerated 2 approach, 4 green sodded areas, the front of 10 green before the rain. We hope to do the same on the boundary of new and old sod on No. 17 which is struggling to take root. Next week we'd like to do the process on all the remaining sodded areas.
Driving Range - The driving range is still closed until further notice. We were gaining again on the water level and now a 27mm rain is setting us back. We are attempting to install the electric pumps in the man hole today so the pumps can run 24/7.
Fairways - The Primo Maxx spray Monday has taken effect reducing clippings after surge of growth. Fairways looking real good at the moment with combo of heat and rain.
Rough - Crew is out today trying to cut where it is not too wet. Rough may be a little long in spots where the mowers couldn't get to.
Bunkers - Bunkers washed out a bit again last night. So work on bunkers to recover from damage from washouts will be required again today. Traps will need to be pumped out again where required.
Ground Under Repair - Treat all new sodded areas IN ROUGH as 'ground under repair'. No. 18 fairway has been overseeded to recover ice damage. Treat any bare areas on No. 18 as 'ground under repair'.
Course Etiquette - Please remember to repair ball marks and replace divots. If carrying your golf bag and using the sand tubes, please use on FAIRWAYS ONLY. Maintenance staff repairs all tee divots and uses a different seed then what is used on fairways.
Have a great round!
