Competition Countdown

Peak summer activities
The countdown to this weekend's Club championships is now within a week away.  Conditions should be great for the event as the greens should start to pick up speed slightly with the topdressing sand settling in and the slightly lower mowing heights now achievable.

It's Men's day this afternoon with includes the Senior Men's Championships. We have a routine full mow day today to catch up after another busy weekend.  The greens are getting sprayed with their weekly Primo Maxx + foliar fertilizer application this morning to keep the turf nourished and regulated.  Tees will be sprayed with Primo this week as well along with Triton for dollar spot disease control.  Oars wetting agent is due on greens for it's monthly application to aid in water penetration into the soil profile.

We will be continue to monitor sand levels this week in the bunkers as we try and maximize their playability.

Bunker edging completed last week
Unfortunately the sod on the front of No. 5 doesn't look to be bouncing back, and will need to be replaced this week.  Weeds in treebeds we hope to get sprayed especially up between No. 3 and 4 where we plan to add pine straw in the coming week.  The drainage project before the road on No. 11 fairway will be cleaned up early this week.

There are a couple of irrigation leaks to repair, one on the bluegrass in the island near No. 14 tee and the other right of No. 13 fairway.

The bunker sand trial is continuing till the end of the month down at the range.  Make sure you get a chance to view the sands and give us your feedback.

The course is taking a beating with the busy play and your help will make a difference in helping keep it pristine.  Don't forget to do your part by fixing ball marks on greens and repair divots on fairways using the sand mix when necessary.

Have a great round!
