Fairways were brushed and dry-cut yesterday afternoon to tighten-up playing surface |
The greens will be brushed this morning again to stand-up the laying over grass, and then double-cut and rolled to help true-up and speed-up the playing surface. The fairways will be cut three times this week instead of the usual two to help stand up the grass that is laying over from repeat cutting in the similar direction. The fairways were brushed yesterday before being dry-cut to help with this condition. The fairways should start to become faster too if the weather stays on the drier side!
Today the bunkers will get their weekly routine of checking the sand depths and line trimming the grass around the edges.
Underbrush left of No. 15 green removed to aid in playability |
Some other projects today include:
- Isolated bentgrass sod plugging on No. 3 and 12
- Sodding on No. 18 fairway/approach
- Completing irrigation repairs on No. 13 and 14
- Mulching around trees
- Trimming around the surface drains
- Marking hazard lines
- Repairing fairway divots.
- Mower sharpening
Hope you have decided to participate in this weekend's Club Champs. If you haven't signed up, keep in mind there are four flights to allow you to compete against members in your handicap range. If you are not going to play, come by Sunday afternoon to watch the final groups playing up the 18th!
Have a great round!
