Beautiful Day's Ahead

The View From 18 Green This Morning
After the unexpected thunderstorms last night, the course received just over a quarter inch of rain. That being said the Bunkers did NOT wash out. The Greens are still firm and playing at 8.5. Environment Canada is calling for it to be 22 with a UV index of 7 today. Carts are available for full use today, please avoid any low lying areas and please stay on cart paths when allowable. The Brad Stevens Memorial Tournament is this afternoon, with a shotgun start at 12:30. All of the greens will be mowed, bunkers will be raked and pins changed.

It will be a busy week in the turf maintenance department this week as we are preparing the course for the summer months, tomorrow morning green surrounds and wood lined areas of the fairways and tees will be sprayed with Pyrate 480 EC to suppress Adult Annual Blugrass Weevils. Monday Morning we will be Spraying Oars Wetting agent on the greens, and Par III in the rough to eradicate the Dandelions. The Greens will be verticut and topdressed on Tuesday to help remove unwanted thatch. The crew will also begin to touch up the tree beds with pine straw under the coniferous trees, and mulch under the deciduous trees, as well as the large trees beds.

Yesterday the electric valves at tennis had to be flushed out due to High Density Poly (HDP) shavings in the lines. This was caused when the main line crossing the road to the Driving Range was cut through. The last court will be flushed out tomorrow morning. Sod was laid on 17 Fairway and between 1 Tee and 9 Green, please play these areas as Ground Under Repair.
