Yesterday and into last night, the course received 12mm of rain that has softened up the course even more. The 12mm of rain that we received all came in just over 2 hours. This is a fairly decent down pour.
Today on the course, regular weekend maintenance will take place. The pins will be changed, the blocks will be rotated, greens will be mown, greens will be rolled and the bunkers will be raked.
As mentioned yesterday, the course is already a little on the wet side. This rain we have just received has only made it worse. We would like to remind everyone to watch for stakes and fix their ball marks!
One staked off area we forgot to mention yesterday were the two new seeded sod beds on 15 and 17. These were seeded last week and we are still awaiting germination, so these areas are extremely sensitive. They are clearly staked off and we please ask that you do not enter these areas at the moment, not even to retrieve your ball. This is our supply of Bentgrass for future damaged areas.
We thought we would give you one more fun fact about the Canadian Open this morning. Did you know that the Canadian Open was Arnold Palmers first PGA Tour win? He won that Canadian Open at Westin Golf & Country Club in Toronto. Today is the final day of the Open and it is shaping up to be a good one. With many big name players near the top, this afternoons broadcast should be very exciting!
Have a great round!
