Today MLGCC hosts golf course superintendents from all across Canada for the CGSA (Canadian Golf Superintendent's Association) 48th Annual Fall Field Day starting with a 10am shotgun. More than 100 participants will be involved in today's National Championship, part of CGSA's Fall Field Day event this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
After the heavy storm activity causing flooding and power outages on the course Sunday, the greens crew has worked tirelessly to restore the course back to it's prime condition. The power was finally restored around 2pm Monday to allow the drainage pumps to resume running to take away the remaining standing water. The washouts in bunkers and cartpaths have been repaired and the mowing of all playing surfaces has been completed after removal of all the debris.
The greens crew appreciated the help from volunteers this morning from the CGSA board of directors who graciously woke up early and dedicated some hand work preparing the bunkers for today's round.

Breakfast will be served down at the Clubhouse before today's round and the reception will follow the competition, starting at 5pm.
The CGSA thanks all the support from the generous sponsors who helped make this prestigious event possible.
It looks as though it will be a fantastic fall day with clear skies and a high of 19.
Yesterday morning superintendents interacted and discussed agronomic issues with a walk-around on the course led by Dr. John Kaminski, professor from Penn State University during the "Turf Academy" sponsored by Plant Science.

A 9-hole best ball tournament followed at The Rock Golf Club at 2pm hosted by the Rock's superintendent Deni Terenzio. The course was in great shape and it was impressive to see how Deni and his crew repaired the course from Sunday's washouts that ripped through the property.
