Opening Day '16

First tee time of the 2016 season

It's opening day and a great day for golf.  The course opened at 10 am and the first group off this season was Tim and Debbie Hogan (pictured above) who stopped to chat on their way to the 1st tee with Jordan and Jay and their friendly staff.

The course is in fine shape despite the delayed spring weather.  We just had our last snowfall the first two days of last week and now it's starting to feel more like spring.  Last night I felt it was a little warmer finally and was able to kick off one of the covers while sleeping.  A definite sign of better growing weather.

While the course is playing pretty firm for early May, bear with us as the greens are playing a little slower at the moment. With the covers staying on as long as they did this spring with the cool weather, they were a little shaggy coming out of winter.  We've been cutting them down gradually and within another week, they will be down towards normal cutting heights and speeds.

For tomorrow (Friday) the tee times begin at 10 am again.  On the weekend, the tee times will go back to 9 am and the driving range will be opened for the weekend only.

The weather forecast is calling for sunny skies and a high of 19 Friday, continuing warm on Saturday with chance of some scattered showers, and Sunday sunny skies, and a little cooler with a high of 9 for Mother's Day.
